SocialChad ("we," "our," or "us") is a confidence coaching app that helps users improve social and dating skills through AI-powered analysis of dating profile screenshots and personalized chatbot advice.
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
By using SocialChad, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. We comply with applicable privacy laws including GDPR (for EU users) and CCPA (for California residents).
Information We Collect
Account Information:
- Email address (for account creation and login)
- Display name (optional)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Location/city (optional, used for personalized date suggestions)
- Dating app preferences (which apps you use)
App Usage Data:
- Screenshots of dating profiles you upload for analysis
- Chat messages with our AI coach "Chad"
- Self-logged statistics (matches, openers sent, streaks)
- Achievement progress and XP levels
Device & Technical Data:
- Device type and operating system
- Anonymous usage analytics via Firebase
- Crash reports and performance data
Payment Information:
- Subscription status and history (processed via Apple App Store)
- We do not store or have access to your payment card details
What We Don't Collect: We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health information, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation.
How We Use Your Data
- Provide Core Features: Analyze dating profile screenshots, generate conversation openers, and provide personalized coaching advice through our AI chatbot.
- Personalize Your Experience: Use your location for local date ideas, remember your communication style preferences, and track your progress.
- Improve Our Service: Analyze anonymous usage patterns to improve app features and fix bugs.
- Process Subscriptions: Manage your premium subscription status.
- Send Notifications: Daily motivation tips, streak reminders, and achievement alerts (with your consent).
What We Don't Do: We do not sell your personal data. We do not show targeted advertisements. We do not share your data with data brokers.
AI Data Processing
SocialChad uses artificial intelligence to analyze dating profiles and provide coaching advice. Here's how it works:
- AI Provider: We use Anthropic's Claude AI to process your screenshots and chat messages.
- What's Sent: When you scan a profile or chat with Chad, the relevant text and images are sent to our AI provider for real-time processing.
- Consent: We ask for your explicit consent before sending any data to our AI provider. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings → Privacy.
- Data Retention: Our AI provider processes your data in real-time to generate responses. Your data is not stored long-term by the AI provider.
Your Control: You can disable AI data sharing at any time in the app's Privacy settings. Note that core features (scanning and chat) require AI processing to function.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate SocialChad:
- Firebase (Google): User authentication, cloud data storage, and anonymous analytics. Protected by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI): AI processing for profile analysis and chat responses. Protected by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
- RevenueCat: Subscription management and payment processing. We do not receive or store your payment card information.
- Apple App Store: App distribution and payment processing for subscriptions.
We do not share your personal data with any other third parties without your explicit consent, except as required by law.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active.
- Chat History & Scans: Retained until you delete them or delete your account.
- Analytics: Anonymized data retained per Firebase's standard retention periods.
Deleting Your Data:
- You can delete all your data (scans, chats, progress) from Settings → Privacy → Delete All Data.
- You can request complete account deletion from Settings → Privacy → Delete Account.
- Alternatively, email us at privacy@socialchad.app.
- We process deletion requests within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
- Data Portability: Request an export of your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw Consent: Revoke consent for AI data processing at any time.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of analytics and non-essential data collection.

Security
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures:
- All data transmission is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
- Data is stored securely using Firebase's cloud infrastructure.
- We use secure authentication methods.
- Access to user data is strictly limited to essential personnel.
However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security against all potential breaches.
Children's Privacy
SocialChad is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@socialchad.app and we will promptly delete such information.
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (Firebase, Anthropic) operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the updated policy in the app
- Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page
- Sending a notification for significant changes
